Digifest/ Festival | Makeup & Outfit

So to continue with yesterdays post which you should definitely check out (hint hint), I'm going to share with you what I was sporting on my face and on my body when I went to Digifest. I was going for a very natural effortless girly look which I think I achieved. This look could definitely be used for going to a festival or a concert as well. I loved how it all turned out and I hope you do too, so lets get started!

Makeup:

So firstly for my makeup, I got my face ready for makeup by doing my usual morning routine, making sure to apply moisturiser to ensure there were no flakes. Next I applied my favourite long lasting foundation, The Revlon ColorStay Makeup for Normal/Dry Skin in Ivory with my Real Techniques Stippling Brush. I love this foundation as it is a perfect for my pale skin tone and it works perfectly with the Real Techniques brush.

Next I concealed my blemishes with my favourite concealer, The Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Fair. I love how creamy this concealer is, and it blends so well into the skin. For under the eyes I used my heavy duty Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. This isn't one of my favourites due to its plasticy scent, but it does cover up darkness very well. To finish off my base makeup, I dusted my face with Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder.

Now onto adding some life to my face. For contouring I used NYC Big Bold Bronzer Manhattan. I don't like to add too much bronzer to my face for contouring as I am so pale, so I simply add a little just under my cheekbones, blending well. I also add a little around the sides of my face and on my neck. For my cheeks I used Sleeks MakeUp Blush By 3 Palette in Pumpkin with the shade Squash.

My eyes were a very complicated procedure (complicated for me that is...). I firstly primed my eyes using the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (Travel size) to ensure that everything would sit still for my long long day. For this look, I used my new MAC Eyeshadows which I wrote a previous post about here (If you want the links for the eyeshadows I used, please check on that post). So as a base, I put Naked Lunch all over my lids and on my eyebrow bone. Then I worked Copperplate from the outer corners of my eyes inwards all over my lid, so that it wasn't concentrated on the middle of my lids. Next I put Satin Taupe in the outer corner of my lids and blended it into my crease to about halfway. I did this until I got the desired look. And after all that I blended to make sure it all looked natural and wearable and put some more of Naked Lunch in the inner corner of my eyes to brighten my look.

I then lined my upper and lower water lines with Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer in Black concentrating it to the outer corners of my eyes so that it didn't make the look too dark. Then using the Topshop Magic Liner in Engraved, I did a very thin line all the way from the inner corners and winging it out. To put it all together I used the Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara as it doesn't clump and is super easy to use. I then wanted my lashes to be fuller, so I added a coat of the Maybelline Falsies Mascara Volum Express as it gives such great volume to your lashes yet I find that it did make my lashes clump together very badly.

You know what they say, "You're never fully dressed without your brows"(did you get the Annie reference?). To tame the beasts, I used the Sleek Brow Kit in Extra Dark with the wax as I find that it matches my brows better than the powder (which has a red undertone to it). Then to finish it all off, I applied Topshops Lipstick in the shade Pillow Talk, which is a beautiful nude light pink colour which I thought would neutralise my dark eyes to give a more natural look.

Outfit:
I wanted to be very comfortable and girly so I picked up this gorgeous Wild Flower Smock Dress from Forever 21. It is so floaty and free which I love, and looks very Brandy Melvillesque. This dress is absolutely perfect for summer as you could definitely wear this over a bikini. Due to the low back of this dress, I did wear a bandeau with it so that I wasn't showing my bra to the world. Because I wanted this to be more of a casual look, I added my favourite shoes, which are New Looks Lace Up Plimsolls in red which is now not available in that colour. Finally my essential little brown bag is from Primark and it was a perfect size for the day, as it was able to carry everything I needed (including makeup for touch ups).

I hope you've enjoyed this post and that I didn't ramble on for too long. Let me know what you would wear to a festival/concert?

My Digifest Experience | My Life

About a month ago now, I was lucky enough to be able to go to an event called Digifest with my sister for her birthday to see my favourite YouTubers! I had never been to anything like it before in my life but let me tell you, it was definitely an experience.

If you're not a fan of YouTube, you may not understand what all of the fuss is about so to put it into perspective for you, it's equivalent to meeting your favourite artist or actor! However I did feel rather out of place standing in a crowd of 15/16 year olds who are still in high school (seeing as I am in university) and I don't think I have ever heard so much screaming in my life (and I have to admit that some of that screaming did come from me...). But meeting these YouTubers (who are actual just real people who never ever expected YouTube to become so big), I realised that we were all putting these very normal people in a very unfamiliar position.

I can't even imagine what it must be like for them to have thousands of people screaming their name, or to have people queuing up for hours and hours to just get a glimpse of them. It must be surreal! But the thing that I don't think any of them would have expected was for people to get hurt because of them. During the show, people were being pulled out by the security team as they fainted from being dehydrated, squashed and pushed. I stayed well away from this mosh pit as I knew that it would be way to dangerous. There was so much pushing and shoving, that it was just not very safe. I'm not entirely sure how they could have avoided this situation, but I'm hoping no one got hurt too badly.

My sister and I were lucky enough to have VIP tickets which were not cheap, and were more than twice as much as the general admission tickets. To be honest, it was definitely not worth what I paid for as the only extra benefit was that I got to meet them in person. For some they would do anything to do that, but what they don't realise is that we were very restricted and rushed whilst we met them. We had to wait for hours to get to see them as the queue was so large as they sold way too many VIP tickets and not everyone got to meet them. Luckily, my sister and I did manage to see them but all we had time to do was to get their autograph and a picture before moving briskly to the next person. It was also somewhat awkward meeting them as there was literally nothing to say to them which didn't sound too fangirly. But what I realised when I did meet them was that they were all very nice, and very grateful for everyone who came to meet them.

So would I go again? Probably not. I didn't like how the whole day was run, and when we first bought the tickets, there was no information given about when it started, where to go, what the schedule for the day was, or anything. The only thing that proved we had tickets was the receipt we got from PayPal, and nothing from the actual company. It was very badly run and organised as not a single email was sent to me from the Event telling me what to do. My sister and I thought it started at 2pm (as that is what the website originally told us when we first bought the tickets), but they had changed it to 11am which we didn't realise until the day of the event. Also the meet and greet set up was so cramped and terrible as there was a massive table in-between us and the YouTubers, and we were pushed along by the event staff like a production line. Which leads me to my next criticism of the day, which was that the even staff were probably the most horrible people. They would tell you off, give you mean glances, rudely tell you to move etc. It made the day a whole lot more unenjoyable.

But I think my rant shall end here. I am very grateful that I did get this opportunity to meet everyone that I did, and I am glad that I was able to experience this. If you have any questions or would like to know more about the day, let me know by leaving me a comment. I would also like to apologise for the length of this post, but I could literally go on for years. I hope you enjoyed this post!

Summer Floral Guide | Wishlist #2

Hello my beauties!! Happy Wishlist Wednesday!! I've decided to get myself into a routine so that I know what I am doing, rather than making up what I will write about the day before. So from now on, every Wednesday, I shall be doing a wishlist or if I am inspired to do something else, I will.

I don't know about you but florals just put me in the summer mood. Which is why I have helped you all out by selecting a few favourite floral looks. Ive tried to get a varied range of items to fit everyones's budgets. I also chose a large range of types of clothing so that there is something for all different styles. So lets get started!

1. Jersey Dress for £9.95 from H&M
I love this print and it is something that is definitely 'in' at the moment (as you can see, it appears twice in this wishlist...). I also love the fit of this dress, and it is definitely complementary for many body types as it is tight at the top and goes out at the waist. And if you aren't sold already, it's as cheap as peanuts!

2. Floral Patterned Dress for £12.99 from H&M
This is a super comfy looking loose dress which hangs nicely off the shoulders. It is such a floaty and easy going dress, perfect for those super hot days, when you really just cant be bothered. Simply slip this on to make it look like you've really made an effort!

3. Moto Floral Pastel Joni Jeans for £38.00 from Topshop
I love the look of these jeans and they are something that is definitely out of my comfort zone! If you're like me, and not completely comfortable with wearing just white jeans, these floral jeans are absolutely perfect. Also, if you have a lack of curves, these will be very flattering as they are high waisted, which is just my cup of tea!

4. Batina Floral Jumpsuit In Silk Feel for £29.99 from Missguided
I love this jumpsuit and it is definitely not too out there for me to not wear it. I've never really been into full length playsuits but this one is super cute and is something I could see myself wearing on those days when its not too hot, yet not too cold.

5. Nabia Floral Strappy Playsuit for £17.99 from Missguided
This is such a unique looking playsuit as it looks as if it is a top and shorts. It is so simple yet so very elegant and would be perfect for all occasions depending on what shoes you wore with it. I think it would especially go well with tanned skinned sisters as white would really complement your complexion.

6. Pennie Floral Print Playsuit for £24.99 from Missguided
I absolutely love the bright blues and greens in this playsuit as it is something really different to me. I also love how fitted it is, so that it hugs you in all the right places! And who doesn't love a few pink flowers in their print?!

7. Floral Print Skort for £35.00 from Miss Selfridge
This is something that would definitely not quite be in my comfort zone as it is a skort. I have tried one on from Miss Selfridge before and found that they are really really short, hardly covering my bum area. Perhaps I just got the wrong size, or maybe thats just how they are. BUT, I do absolutely love the pastel pattern on this skort! It would definitely be a statement piece of your outfit!

And that's it! I hope you have enjoyed Wishlist Wednesday, and have found fashion inspiration from this post. Let me know what your favourite items are!! And if you have ever tried a skort??

Everyday Eye makeup | Eyes Of The Day #1

So I know it's been years since I last wrote a post, but may I just say, I am here to stay! Exams are finally over, and I am so much more free that I do in fact have time to write on my blog again! I have so many great ideas and I just cant wait to share them with you!

So to start off again on my blogging adventure, I thought I would share with you my current eye makeup routine. Of course you are going to want to prepare your eyes in whatever way you would usually do, with your usual eye creams and potions. And then we can get started.

Fist off, we are going to want to prime our eyelids. This step isn't the most necessary or steps, and you can definitely skip this one out if you are not feeling it. Here I am using the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Travel Size (£8 at Debenhams) to ensure that there aint any creases and so that my eyeshadow lasts all day. My eyes can get really oily but this really helps stop all that sort of nonsense. Another option would be to put some of the Topshop Glow Highlighter  (£9 at Topshop) on your eyelids to add to the shimmery effect that I'm going for with this look

Next I am going to add a beautiful shimmery eyeshadow to my lids. My favourite is the L'Oreal Paris Colour Appeal in Golden Shimmer for £5.99. I absolutely love this colour as it is very neutral and doesn't look too orange or yellow on my eyes. Adding a bright shimmery colour to your eyes makes you look a lot more awake and really brightens up your look.

This next step is definitely optional. If you're feeling like you want to put a little bit more effort into your look, just add some liner. You can do it to suit your likings, but I like to do a very thin with a slight wing. I am by no means a professional at all, and there are definitely days were I have to redo my entire eye again because I ruin it. But recently I've found the Topshop Magic Liner in Engraved (for £6.50 at Topshop) and it has honestly made my life 10 billion times easier!

No look is every compete without mascara! So first you are going to want to curl those gorgeous lashes to make them look ever so luxurious, before applying your mascara. Here I am using the Lancome Hypnose Mascara which is honestly the best mascara I have ever used. I doesn't clump, it gives volume and length and luckily for me, I got it for £10 when it usually £22.50!! It is definitely worth the price tag!

So here is the finial finished look! This is essentially my everyday makeup look maybe minus the eyeliner, depending on how I am feeling that day. It is super easy and simple but I think it looks really natural and pretty. I hope you have gained some useful information or tips from this post!

I hope you have enjoyed this post, and let me know what you think in the comments!! Have you tried any of these products? If so let me know what you think of them!

Exam Stress | Motivational Mondays

So it's that time of year again, where you have no social life or free time, because you have to study for your stupid exams (at least that's what my life is like at the moment...)! Ever since the beginning of my easter break (which was 6 weeks ago now) I've been hitting the books, studying my little butt off! And may I just say, I think I am about to go crazy!!

But luckily for me, it's almost all over (praise the lord!) and I only have 10 more days now until I am free from exams (until next year that is, when it happens all over again!!!). For those of you who don't know, I'm studying maths at university in London (which is definitely not everyone's cup of tea), and let me tell you, it can be a bitch.

But I'm not writing this post to complain about my problems, but to instead give you motivation and inspiration to help you get through yours! I know that exams are a lot of work, and some people may not even bother to study till the last minute, but if you do study, you will be rewarded in some way.

Here are my 5 top tips to help you pull yourself to the finish line:

#1 Have a good work environment
This is something that is absolutely key for me! Every morning I have to clean my room as my philosophy is, "messy room, cluttered mind" meaning that if I don't tidy my room, my brain cant thing straight. Also make sure that there is nothing around to distract you (so put that phone well away)! If you have to use your computer to study, have a separate window open for your work related things to help stay off youtube, facebook etc! Something else which I believe is crucial is having a comfortable work area. My upper back, neck and shoulders are prone to hurt, especially during stressful seasons like exams, so I have to ensure that my posture is perfect.

#2 Plan!
One of the best things that help me to actually work, is to set myself a rough schedule. For the past few weeks, I planned out to do two past papers a day, which helped me put everything in a time scale so that I wouldn't be panicking when my exams came around because I hadn't done everything I wanted to do. You don't have to create an hour by hour schedule, but rather a rough outline of what you might want to achieve each day (perhaps choose a few areas of your studies to focus on). I find that when I know what I am doing, I am more productive and focused.

#3 Take breaks when YOU need to
Everyone is different when it comes to how long they can work for, so if you need breaks every 40 minutes, then allow yourself to have a break. But make sure you control how long your breaks are (say 5 minutes), because otherwise, your break time will be more than your revision time.

#4 Don't forget to relax!
Sometimes, we all need a break from our work to renew our energy, so that we can work to the best of our ability. It's ok, to go out and have fun (as long as it's not the day before the exam...)! I find that having a day where I do nothing, really clears up my mind, and gets me focused. Generally I work in the morning (as I find that I can concentrate better), so that I can have the evenings completely free from work to do absolutely nothing. And I never work past 8pm as I find that my brain is absolute mush by then.

#5 Look forward to the end!
Something that gets me through my exams, is knowing that this torture will end! Just simply put it into perspective that you will be only sacrificing a few weeks out of the thousands that you will have in your life! And before you know it, you will be out laughing and partying with your friends. Just think about how after you finished, you will be able to sleep in till whenever o'clock, or how you can sit around and do absolutely nothing, just because you can! You can go out and explore, and you can look forward to the rest of your life!

I hope you've found this useful! I am definitely not an expert in anyway when it comes to exams, and we all have different things that work best for ourselves. I also want to apologise for not posting for the longest of time, but I've been exhausted after studying all day, and I couldn't find the energy to write a post.

But don't worry, I will be back to my normal beauty blogging self in 10 days (which I cant wait for)!! Let me know if you have any good tips or tricks for exam time! And let me know if you've found this helpful!

Hello everyone!! I hope you have all been enjoying the lovely English weather because I know I am (even though I have been cooped up inside studying all day)!! All of this sun really got me into the summery mood so I went on over to MissGuided to find some new items for my summer wardrobe! I absolutely love all of their clothes on there and it was so hard to limit myself to choosing a selected few. But after much deliberation, I have narrowed it down to 6 items.

1. Mintare Crop Top With Spaghetti Straps In Mint for £9.99
2. Axelle Mint Crepe Skort for £17.99
3. Saule Strappy Chiffon Playsuit In Mint for £24.99

5. Tempesta Palm Print Skater Dress With Caged Back Detail for £24.99
6. Lasla Mint Skater Dress With Flocked Floral Detail for £14.99

As you could probably tell, I am obsessed with mint!! I think it looks so perfect for the warmer seasons and it really brightens up your mood! Another one of my obsessions is playsuits because they are so easy to wear, and you don't have to worry about wether your knickers are showing if there is a wind a blowing (can I hear an Amen?).

I hope you have enjoyed this post!! It's the first time I have ever done a wish list so let me know what you think!! Would you buy any of these items? And let me know what you're wanting for summer!
