Digifest/ Festival | Makeup & Outfit
So to continue with yesterdays post which you should definitely check out (hint hint), I'm going to share with you what I was sporting on my face and on my body when I went to Digifest. I was going for a very natural effortless girly look which I think I achieved. This look could definitely be used for going to a festival or a concert as well. I loved how it all turned out and I hope you do too, so lets get started!
So firstly for my makeup, I got my face ready for makeup by doing my usual morning routine, making sure to apply moisturiser to ensure there were no flakes. Next I applied my favourite long lasting foundation, The Revlon ColorStay Makeup for Normal/Dry Skin in Ivory with my Real Techniques Stippling Brush. I love this foundation as it is a perfect for my pale skin tone and it works perfectly with the Real Techniques brush.
Next I concealed my blemishes with my favourite concealer, The Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Fair. I love how creamy this concealer is, and it blends so well into the skin. For under the eyes I used my heavy duty Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. This isn't one of my favourites due to its plasticy scent, but it does cover up darkness very well. To finish off my base makeup, I dusted my face with Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder.
Now onto adding some life to my face. For contouring I used NYC Big Bold Bronzer Manhattan. I don't like to add too much bronzer to my face for contouring as I am so pale, so I simply add a little just under my cheekbones, blending well. I also add a little around the sides of my face and on my neck. For my cheeks I used Sleeks MakeUp Blush By 3 Palette in Pumpkin with the shade Squash.
I then lined my upper and lower water lines with Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer in Black concentrating it to the outer corners of my eyes so that it didn't make the look too dark. Then using the Topshop Magic Liner in Engraved, I did a very thin line all the way from the inner corners and winging it out. To put it all together I used the Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara as it doesn't clump and is super easy to use. I then wanted my lashes to be fuller, so I added a coat of the Maybelline Falsies Mascara Volum Express as it gives such great volume to your lashes yet I find that it did make my lashes clump together very badly.
You know what they say, "You're never fully dressed without your brows"(did you get the Annie reference?). To tame the beasts, I used the Sleek Brow Kit in Extra Dark with the wax as I find that it matches my brows better than the powder (which has a red undertone to it). Then to finish it all off, I applied Topshops Lipstick in the shade Pillow Talk, which is a beautiful nude light pink colour which I thought would neutralise my dark eyes to give a more natural look.
Outfit:
I wanted to be very comfortable and girly so I picked up this gorgeous Wild Flower Smock Dress from Forever 21. It is so floaty and free which I love, and looks very Brandy Melvillesque. This dress is absolutely perfect for summer as you could definitely wear this over a bikini. Due to the low back of this dress, I did wear a bandeau with it so that I wasn't showing my bra to the world. Because I wanted this to be more of a casual look, I added my favourite shoes, which are New Looks Lace Up Plimsolls in red which is now not available in that colour. Finally my essential little brown bag is from Primark and it was a perfect size for the day, as it was able to carry everything I needed (including makeup for touch ups).
I hope you've enjoyed this post and that I didn't ramble on for too long. Let me know what you would wear to a festival/concert?
